Money HDC is a free game, you do not need to pay to play. All players start off with $200,000 play money. It's advised to record your spending records somewhere (like Notepad, Word, etc). Money needs to be totaled up and the total put on the Bank board at the end of each month (or as often as you want to update it).
Example of keeping track: $200,000 - $800 (boarding) = $199,200 $199,200 - $150 (training) = $199,050 $199,050 - $1,010 (horse treats) = $198,040
Registering Horses All horses need to be registered on the Registrations board. Information should not be PMed to the admins or players. New players may only create up to 5 horses, and purchase 5 more, and may only have up to 10 until they own a mini-barn.
Example of Registration:
Your Name: Tiffany Marie Your Stable (or where boarding): Lots O Spots Ranch
Horse's Name: Charlie Horse's Gender: Stallion Horse's Breed: Paint Bred or Created: Created (only put bred if you breed two already registered horses from here) Horse's Sire x Dam: Charlie Horse x Daffney Horse's Age: 13 Horse's Height: 15.3 Horse's Color: Sorrel Overo
When your horse is registered, an admin will post a reply with the registration number: Charlie Registration #01
Boarding Horses Once your horse(s) have been registered it is time to find somewhere that will take care of them and feed them. To find somewhere to board your horse simply go to the board called Boarding. Each boarding stables page should describe the type of care and the costs for keeping your horse here. If you like it, fill out the information they need and keep note of the total cost and log it away.
Feeding Your Horse As a new player, you do not need to worry about this. Which ever stable you have boarded your horse at will take feed your horse. Only if you own stable do you need to purchase feed. You may, however, purchase treats and supplements for your boarded horses.
Training Horses Unless you already have a stable, and a training facility, you cannot train your own horses. You can however, find a certified trainer to train your horse in a discipline on the Training board. If you find a trainer that can train your horse in your preferred discipline simply fill out their form. (Keep track of the training costs for your log). You should then receive a Private Message (PM) or a response telling you how your horse did during the training. Some horses will require more than one session.
Showing Horses Horses must be trained in the disciplines which they will be shown. Try to keep it realistic, you're not going to see a Warmblood doing western pleasure and you won't see a horse do barrel racing and dressage. Horses may not be driven or ridden under saddle until age 2. Race horses can be retired from racing and trained in a new discipline, but they may not be trained in racing again. You may not enter more than 5 shows a day, and no more than 12 classes in each show per horse. Horses should be checked and approved by a veterinarian and have a negative Coggins test before showing.
Example of entering a show: Class Name & Number Horse Name - Rider/Exhibitor- Owner- Barn
1. Prospect Fillies Halter Dreamer - Shelly Daniels - Tiffany Mare - LOSR
OR
1. Prospect Fillies Halter Dreamer, shown by Shelly Daniels, owned by Tiffany Marie of LOSR
Riders In order for you to show your horses, you will need riders. All riders must be registered on the Rider Registration board and certified by a trainer in no more than 3 disciplines (not including halter) before showing. Horses must be shown by a certified rider. You are allowed to be a rider but you can only show as a professional (ladies, pro, open classes) - no youth, amature, etc. A rider can only be in one class at a time, so you may not have 1 rider riding two horses in the same class. Youth may not show stallions at all. Riders can show an unlimited amount of horses. Remember to keep track of your riders and their information.
Checks This is the correct way to write checks:
